A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for 25 years, Judith is a founder of HEARTWOOD Mindfulness Practice Center, and has been an instructor of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction in medical, mental health, professional, educational, religious, and corporate settings for 16 years.

She trained professionally with Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1993 and currently practices and studies with Thich Nhat Hanh and his monks and nuns in France and the U.S. Judith was Ordained in Thich Nhat Hanh's Order of Interbeing in June 2006. Judith is offering a two- year training for a group of statewide United Methodist Ministers in Mindfulness, Buddhism, and Christianity (2007 – 2008).

She is the Primary Facilitator of the Blooming Heart Thich Nhat Hanh Sangha, helps facilitate the University of Minnesota Minneapolis Campus Mindfulness for Students Club, and is an instructor for Abbott Northwestern Hospital's Center for Health and Healing Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program.

Fall 2008 she is MBSR instructor for a research project sponsored by the University of Minnesota and the Women's Heart Health Program of the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation; and has been invited and being honored as a Healer Mentor in the Twin Cities at the RESTORE Conference held at Aveda International Institute, Sunday October 5th, 2008. In 2010, she'll teach MBSR with the National Institute of Health through the University of Minnesota
